Medium was fun but…
…hello, I must be going.
No hard feelings, though, none at all. All good things must eventually come to an end.
Back in 2020, this platform was a total Godsend for me. Mostly because my short stories found a home with the no-longer-in-existence publication, p.s. i love you. And p.s. I loved them, and they loved me. Ah, those magical Medium memories. Good times. Good times indeed.
When p.s. i love you closed shop :( I found myself writing essays that didn’t really float my boat. I just wrote them because it felt like this platform was no longer an ideal place for my fiction and poetry, but I felt like I still had to feed the beast. After all, I have been lucky enough to make some bucks here. (Thanks again for that $500 bonus, Medium; that was a fun surprise! And money is niiiiceeee.) But since then, Medium seems to have curtailed the gifts for the type of writing I do, and not just the money, but the eyes on my work dropped off, so off I go to greener pastures.
I’m not removing all my stories or anything, but I will no longer post new ones or be a Medium Member as of December 24th, 2023.
