Just a Girl in the Whirl
A teenage poet finds her way in the YA novel, Just a Girl in the Whirl
Now what?
When you don’t have a PR team to get the word out, what to do? Everything solo. That’s how it goes. So, welcome to this post! 😁
Putting your art out there is always a risk.
I ask myself, will anyone read it? Like it? Share it? Care at all?
If you haven’t read how this particular book came to be, here’s that story:
I’m a writer through and through so even if this book doesn’t fly off the shelves, I needed to write it, so I did. Now I’m sharing it. And I choose to remain hopeful that my stories will connect with the right people at the right time. Maybe the person reading this now is the right people.
“If my doctor told me I had only six minutes to live, I wouldn’t brood. I’d type a little faster.” ~ Isaac Asimov
And the answer to the question that I asked myself?
Why worry about any of that now? You did the work! It’s out there! Let it breathe. Let it be. Now go out there and write some more.
The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.” ~ Sylvia Plath
Just a Girl in the Whirl is about a teenage poet who uses poetry to cope with her struggle to care for her bipolar mother and younger sisters . Her world begins to spin out of control when her long-absent alcoholic father returns and wants back into their lives.
Just a Girl in the Whirl is about family, forgiveness, and having enough courage to live your own life, your own way. 📚
